100th post: i'm featured on Of Pinks and Fairytales!

image from Of Pinks and Fairytales
what a wonderful thing for my 100th post! i've been featured on Of Pinks and Fairytales as part of Creating Success Around the World blog hop. Janelle, the blogger behind Of Pinks and Fairytales, is a mom and crafter like me. she has been a very kind and accomodating blog host, and a million thanks to her for this feature. :)

you can check out the feature here.

The Tempest painting by Rachel Gorton on redbubble.com

i'm excited over the long weekend here in the Philippines, even if there's a brewing storm. i'm already planning to do some projects, hopefully it won't be too humid to cause the paper to go damp.

also i'm excited( and giddy!) to watch the new Cars2 movie! we already know the story since he bade me to buy him the book (for his good grades), but nothing beats watching Mater in action! i like the idea that they injected some grown-up issues like the oil monopoly, i hope kids can be able to understand the issue though.

be sure to check out my next blog posts, one will be about a green little-known Dr. Seuss story which i hope you, too, will enjoy.

cloth pads

i have officially started using cloth pads during red flag days. they are as effective as ordinary sanitary napkins, plus they're more comfy! i especially like the Fuzzibunz brand because of the fleece top. my bottom feels like a baby! and the added fact that i'm using 2 pads less a day gives me a good feeling because i know that i am helping planet Earth.

Fuzzibunz cloth diapers are available in Manila at the following retail stores: Hobbes & Landes, and Rustans. cloth diapers and mommy pads are also available in selected online stores, all you have to do is google them. :)

Street Photography by Yanidel

image from blog.yanidel.com

i found Yanidel through dress, design & decor blog. his street photographs are nothing short of amazing, and his comments profound. i became an instant fan. i love his photo blog about Paris, it makes me want to visit the city more (not just out of cliche, but he captures the beauty of the city so much and gives it justice). his other blog, which carry photographs from his travels, are as astounding, with some tidbits about photography.

please vote for his book, The Little Crimes of Paris, through this link.

new ACEO Femme Collection: The Morrigan, and a shirt

waiting for the next deathly feast
The Morrigan has always been one of my favorite deities in mythology, mostly because she is associated to battle, strife, and fertility (a curious combo!). she and her sisters, The Badb and Macha are the epitome of goth! i loved her role in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series by Michael Scott, and miss her presence. here are two of my interpretations of her.

the ACEO is available in my etsy shop, but the shirt is mine. :)

now loving: prints by Catherine Campbell

i receive daily "finds" from Etsy on my email. i saw the image above as a thumbnail only and immediately clicked on it. and i was not disappointed. i explored more of Catherine Campbell's shop, myfolklover, on Etsy and her illustrations are right up my alley.

all images from myfolklover shop of Catherine Campbell
and i most particularly like the last print.

new artwork: The Lady

meet The Lady, off to a party where she will fall in love with The Tramp.

this is my first pet/animal portrait. i quite enjoyed adding texture to The Lady's fur, though i must say i need more practice. this goes off to my best friend, Nao (Toychiometry), who is dreaming of having a cocker spaniel of her own, though one that isn't as girly as this.

entry for Doodle Contest on Etsy

i have always imagined a forest to have it's own life, as an entity itself. and what better way to show an enchanted forest as a Shishigami, a forest spirit that is the forest itself? this artwork is already available in my etsy shop.
